The Compass family was glad to have their daughter Emma. In fact she was a miracle. In Minami's family history they have had problems giving birth or children born with defects.
Minami was glad she was able to give birth to such a cute daughter who looked like her. Though Emma was born with a magic disease that comes from her father's side of the family.
The disease called Theurgic Syndrome. A disease that weakens the mana immune system in a person. Everybody has a mana immune system which allows the body to control and
protect their body from their own magic power.  Emma's Theurgic Syndrome and her small body worsened the effect of the disease. Norden and Minami were terrified of losing
their small daughter. Though the disease doesn't necessarily mean death, but means a lot of pain. They were amazed that their daughter was able to grow and smiled through the pain.
They studied several runes and compression magics as she grew up and one day to hopefully strengthen her mana immune system.

As Emma was growing up she started using magic accidentally when she was throwing a fit or extremely saddened by something. She ended up hurting herself or her parents which made
Emma cry more. Her parents didn't mind that she hurt them, but worried cause them to worry more and more. They decided they should train her in magic at the young age of 5. They knew
she was too young, but it was the best thing for her.

Couple of years later a 7 year old Emma enjoying a day out with her parents. They usually go on strolls through the forest that they live in and pass by small rivers, beautiful trees, and a then
through open plains. Though usually during these strolls they ended up practicing with magic. Emma though hated practicing her magic because it made her parents worry and it was painful.
Her parents also started studying more and more giving her less time to have fun, but always more time to practice magic. Her parents studies would hopefully lead them to finding a way to help
ease her pain and lessen the amount of magic Emma uses.

Emma was kind of spoiled and always wanted her parents around and would bother them while they studied or had work from the kingdoms mage council. Usually when her parents ignored her she would
get frustrated, mean, and then tries to ignore her parents and doesn't want their attention even when her parents were done with their work. She then tried to become independent from her parents at such
a young age. She started to read her parents books and scrolls so she could practice on her own so they could spend more time together having fun. Emma has an almost picture perfect memory 
and can memorize anything she has seen which helps her memorizing magic spells, poisons, medical herbs, and so on.

After all of the studying her parents have done they wanted to talk to her and show her what they have been doing. It was all for her and Emma felt upset that she was being mean and acting like
a brat to her parents even though all this time they were studying for her sake. Her parents put a magic rune on her body that was a mixture of runes from different magic practices, rituals, and even
forbidden magic. This rune lessened the amount of magic Emma could use at a time and would grow with her body as her magic power grew.
